Interview with Pride Icons NFT

Hello community! Today’s guest is Amir Lazarovich, founder of Pride Icons NFT.

Software engineer with 20 years of experience. Blockchain enthusiast since 2011, who wrote the 1st master’s thesis in this space at MIT in 2014 (published in 2015). Former Senior Manager of SW Engineering at Google and Director of Engineering at Attentive.

Chris: Paper is collaborating with Pride Icons to enable credit card payment for wallet-based purchases. Tell us more about this system presented by Paper and how it works with the purchase of Pride Icons NFT.

Emir: On June 1, the auction of our 100 Prestige level NFTs opens. Every day until July 4th, we will be putting 3 NFT up for auction (on July 4th there will be only 1 to finish the 100).

It will be a traditional auction, where bidders will bid higher.

Thanks to our partnership with Paper, you can also make an offer with your credit card.

Each auction will last 24 hours. When you make an offer, you submit your offer to the contract. If you use a credit card, Paper will submit your offer on your behalf. If someone bids higher than you, the contract will refund your bid and return it to your wallet. With a credit card, this means the hold on your card (your offer) will be removed.

All sales will be made on our site at (this route will be active on June 1)

Chris: On top of this, the Pride icons aim to support the LGBTQ community. What are your collaborations for the donation and support to the cause?

Emir: So far, we have partnered with the following organizations:

1. Papa Parties – To host private events, provide VIP and backstage access to Papa parties and more to our nft holders.

2. Tammuz Family – Giving our nft holders a $1800 discount with subrogations

3. Gymage – offers our nft holders up to 30% off

4. Boris Paskhover, MD – Offers our nft holders up to 20% off facial plastic surgery (this can mean the world to the trans community)

5. Bit2c: Providing VIP support to our community

We are also in active discussions with 2 other organizations that we hope to announce soon once the deal is complete.

Regarding our donation, some organizations have already been decided and some will be decided in the future, hopefully with the vote of our nft holders. All organizations are within the LGBTQ+ space.

Chris: The inaugural mint is special. How many tokens will be released? What is different about this release?

Emir: In addition to the 100 NFTs sold at auction, we have 9,900 unique NFTs that we plan to release in phases after the auction. These will be sold as standard at a fixed price. These are our lowest and second lowest utility levels. Our top tier is the one we will be selling on June 1st at auction. (We have a total of 3 tiers, for more information on our tiers please see

Chris: Also, what will the chips be like? How will the tokens be differentiated?

Emir: The 100 NFTs sold at auction are completely different from each other. You can see examples here:

The 9900 NFTs that will be sold at a later date have unique art and attributes that set them apart from each other. You can see some examples here:

Chris: Sure, what will a Pride Icon token cost? How much will the mint fee be?

Emir: The minimum bid during the auction is 0.06 e. The minting fee depends on gas prices. From our experimentation we saw that the first offer used 186,146 units of gas and the second offers used only 116,973. With current gas prices and eth prices, this is somewhere between $5 and $13. Once the auction closes, we call the contract to do the actual minting, so it’s free to the bidder.

Chris: Also, please clarify the steps to mint a Pride Icon NFT.

Emir: 1. Go to

2. Connect your wallet (eg metamask or coinbase) or login with your email

3. Make your offer by submitting a transaction with your wallet or going through the Paper credit card flow

4. Wait for the auction to end.

5. If you are the winner (you will see it on our site), your NFT will be sent to the wallet you used to make the offer. For credit card flows, Paper will create a wallet for you and hold onto it until you’re ready to take control.
